Entry: Walgreens was calling my name: My ink run....

I really hope I am posting this in the right place:
I so needed ink: (I wasn't going to go shopping until tomorrow or friday) and wouldn't you know they were all out of the Cholarseptic spray (Grrrrr ), anyhow Ya'll post shopping trips just a little different then what I am used to (so I will try my best to post like ya'll do).... Hopefully my mess ups will get corrected (so I can learn) ie: percentages ooooiiiii O.oo .... here goes!

    Guess I should say what I started with (3) 10 rr, (1) 2 rr and 1690 points:

    Total coupons: 10.29

    Total minus q = 9.35 - 2 rr last week trip - 2 rr from trans 1 - 1.50 rr from trans 1 = Paid $3.85 (4.09 w/tax)

    Earned: 4000 and 1000 pts

3rd Transaction (was 310 points away from 10000 points)

    Reg price: 67.15
    Sale Price: 55.40

    Coupons Used:
    (2) Clear Men Peelies 3/1 = 6.00
    1 Got2b insert 2/1 = 2.00
    Total coupons: 8.00

    Total minus q = 47.40 - 10 rr from last week - 10 rr from last week = 27.40 (29.54 w/tax) - 10000 pts = 17.40 paid 19.54

    134.00 worth @ 106.00 sale price = 26.24 oop
So not a bad ink run I don't think: HU?
Anything anyone would have done differently? for a lower oop n each trans or as a group trans? etc...
So anyone know the percentage since ya'll don't count previous RR in the mix (sorry my mind hasnt' wrapped itself around this yet)

Best Part I have my ink & now I can Run when Steve says Run, as long as, I don't trip

    ttfn,
    Michelle

Note: the 2 minis, 1 colgate and 1 poise is from my trip to CVS today (in photo)

I came up with $135.60 retail value. After coupons, points, and rewards earned only on this trip your total out of pocket is $57.74. $57.74 divided by $135.60 equals .43 multiply that by 100 equals 42.58 then subtract 42.58 from 100 and you get your savings of 57.4%

You will need to post this in Brag, Boast, and Post your Shopping Trips as an entry.

I have not found a way to do on the coupon printing sites. But my trick is to leave my empty color cartridge in there while I am printing coupons and then it only prints with black ink. Now, I will say this some of my coupons do not come out exactly right and some printers may not allow you to print with an empty color cartridge. I guess it would depend on what you can get away with.

There should be an option in your printer setting for you to only print in black ink..Ink cartridges can get way expensive.. I have a Laser Printer, I love it, it lets you print A LOT of coupons on little toner. Plus the toner is decently priced.. only wish it was wireless lol

Thanks, Jen! so Couponswilson, go to printing preferences where you select Black ink only. and you can also select Draft printing, if you print daily then this way you can save some ink; not much though but it counts!

Oh, don't get me started Monica!
I've had at least 2 all in one, printer/scanner/fax/martini shaker and the thing won't scan or fax without a usable cartridge. Given i can buy a new one for about $75 and the cartridges are about $75, i just buy new machine and then angrily post about it at forums like this!

Yes, it's surely futile, but it is a hobby!

I have printer for business and surely waste too much paper and ink in general.
